Madras Photographic Society(MPS) was founded in November 2002 by Mr.K.Ponnusamy the well-known personality in the field of photography and Mr. Ashok Kedia, trustee, Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya Trust.

It was started in association with Jaigopal Garodia Photo Journalism Academy.

MPS is affiliated to India International Photographic Council, Federation of Indian Photography and Photographic Society of America.
